About Uncle John
I promised I would tell you about Uncle John. John Howard was part of a country group called Canadian Zephyr in the 1970's and 80's. They were on the RCA label and toured Canada 26 times. Uncle John had 3 number ones, 6 top tens, and many charted singles. Uncle John is an amazing songwriter, piano player and teacher. He lives in Barrie Ontario for those of you who are lucky enough to be close and want to take piano lessons. On my first album he wrote 'According to the New York Times'. After many years hiatus, he is now writing music again....for me! 'Pouring the Enemy's Wine' holds people spellbound. I am a lucky girl.

Not only could/can John write, he was a hell of a honky-tonk piano player with the band. Have very fond memories of booking some gigs for Zephyr when I lived in the Hill during the ’70’s. Would love to get back in touch. Ian McCallum formerly of CFGM radio in Richmond Hill.

John is my Mom’s brother. He married John Hayman’s sister, Shaaron. They live in Barrie.
