About Uncle John
I promised I would tell you about Uncle John. John Howard was part of a country group called Canadian Zephyr in the 1970's and 80's. They were on the RCA label and toured Canada 26 times. Uncle John had 3 number ones, 6 top tens, and many charted singles. Uncle John is an amazing songwriter, piano player and teacher. He lives in Barrie Ontario for those of you who are lucky enough to be close and want to take piano lessons. On my first album he wrote 'According to the New York Times'. After many years hiatus, he is now writing music again....for me! 'Pouring the Enemy's Wine' holds people spellbound. I am a lucky girl.

Summer at Last
Last weekend was absolutely gorgeous! The French doors at Fifty-Two 80 were wide open to the patio with sunlight spilling into the lounge until 8 in the evening. I sang mostly jazz standards with a couple of my own and some new tunes from Uncle John. He writes the most amazing music. More about Uncle John another time. I'll be singing at the Four Seasons Fridays and Saturdays until July 4th, from 5 to 8pm.

Back at Fifty-Two 80
New Music West was a success. There was an open window behind the stage and it was fun to watch a crowd gather on the sidewalk to listen. The room was full; lots of people I knew and a few I didn't. Special thanks to my music video film crew who came out en masse.
I'm excited to be back at the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler tonight. I've been away for over a month and it will be great to be back. Please drop by if you can.

Ali's 18th Birthday
Big weekend. Ali turned 18 and invited all her favourite friends over for dinner. We had champagne, toasted the birthday girl. She got a great new ipodtouch, a must for every musician. Happy Birthday Ali!
Next day was prom. Ali is almost finished high school...just 2 more weeks to go. She wore a great Betsy Johnson yellow strapless number, lookin' good. Next year, Ali will be focusing on music full time.
